1/12 Honda CB1000F

Tamiya is proud to announce the release of the Honda CB1000F as a new addition to our 1/12 Motorcycle Series.

Honda’s CB series of road sport bikes has a long and proud history of innovation; it started with the 1959 Benly CB92 Super Sports and includes machines such as the genre-defining 1969 CB750 FOUR and its inline four engine, the DOHC 4-valve engine CB750F/900F developed for the European market, and the race-focused 1981 CB1100R.

Fast forward to March 2025 and Honda announced that its existing flagship CB1300SF would be passing on the torch to the CB1000F Concept. Shortly after, in November of that year it went on sale as the CB1000F. The CB1000F’s “Best Balance Roadster” design concept demanded that it be at home in a variety of scenes from everyday use to touring. It inherits and updates the iconic “Flowing Line” styling popularized on its CB750F/900F predecessors, the shape flowing smoothly from the tank right back to the rear cowl, via the side covers to give the bike its powerful and speedy silhouette.

The round LED headlight catches the eye with its modern yet traditional design encircled by a ring-shaped light and featuring a plated rim and central section inscribed with the HONDA logo.

At the rear, the seat’s surface pattern is inspired by the CB750F, and the eye is drawn to design cues like the large taillight and the muffler that dominates the right side of the bike. Some say the CB designation stands for the C in “motor cycle” and the B in “clubman,” but it could be argued that this new iteration has a C for “creative” and a B for “benchmark.” Either way, it promises hours of stress-free riding for all: another icon in a series full of them.

About the Model

• This is a 1/12 scale model assembly kit. Length: 178mm, height: 73mm, height: 109mm.
• The form and flowing lines of the Honda CB1000F are captured in style.
• Main components such as engine, front and rear suspension, muffler and stand are attached to the frame by screws.
• The actual bike’s metal-plated sections such as muffler, headlight, front fork inner tubes and side mirror surfaces are depicted by metal-plated parts.
• A clear red part is included to capture the distinctive taillight, and clear parts to recreate the ring around the headlight and its surface part, LCD display, and front wind shield.
• Features realistic depictions of the liquid-cooled inline-4 engine and radiator hoses featuring mesh patterns. (It is about 25 years since we released a kit depicting an uncowled engine.)
• One-piece part authentically recreates fuel tank and front fender together to limit parting lines.
• Chain is split into right and left halves, and finely recreates roller sections.
• Brake disc parts have minute holes, and outer and inner discs are separate parts for easier painting.
• Includes a metal rear damper spring, and vinyl tubing for pipes such as clutch wiring and brake hose.
• Dedicated front and rear synthetic rubber tires have realistic depictions of tread patterns, and the seat has authentic renderings of leather patterns.
• Comes with masking stickers to use for meter and fuel tank cap.
• Choose whether to use the headlight cowl, which is optional on both the full-size bike and this model.
• Choose one from the following marking options.

?A?Wolf Silver Metallic (blue stripe)
?B?Wolf Silver Metallic (gray stripe)
?C?Graphite Black
?D?SE Wolf Silver Metallic (blue stripe*). *This grade is only planned for sale in Japan.

• In this kit, the marking option ?D? has some dedicated (radiator grille and quick shifter) parts and decals.
These parts can also be attached when choosing marking options ?A?,?B?and?C?.

Tamiya Scale Models require assembly and painting to achieve their full potential, allowing you to customize the model to your preference.

To build a Tamiya kit, you'll need a few essential tools:

  • Cutting tools such as hobby knives or sprue cutters to remove parts cleanly from the plastic sprues, (e.g., Tamiya #74053 Fine Craft Knife, #74153 Craft Knife II and #74093 Modelers Side Cutter)
  • Adhesives, like plastic cement, to bond parts securely. (e.g., Tamiya #87003 Tamiya Cement 40ml or #87182 Tamiya Extra Thin Cement)
  • Sanding tools, such as sandpaper or files, to smooth out edges and remove mold lines. (e.g., Tamiya #74046 Basic File Set, #87009 Medium Set Abrasives)
  • Paints (acrylic or enamel) and brushes or an airbrush system to bring the model to life with realistic colors.
  • You may want optional tools like tweezers, masking tape, or other tools for added precision.
