1/10 R/C 1978 Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo (TT-02)

Tamiya is excited to introduce another iconic racing machine to the lineup: the 1978 Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo, now available on our popular TT-02 chassis. Originally built for the 1978 DRM (German Racing Championship) by the West German Zakspeed racing team, this car was engineered with an ultra-low, wide body shaped through extensive wind tunnel testing. Weighing only 790 kg and powered by a 1,427cc inline-4 DOHC turbo engine producing 375 hp, the Capri Turbo was a true competitive force.

Its first major victory came at the 11th round of the 1978 DRM at Nürburgring. The following year, it continued to prove its performance with a second-place finish in the season’s opening race and a win in the second round.

About the model

• This is a 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit. Length: 488mm, width: 205mm, height: 124mm. Wheelbase: 251mm. 
• The kit features an existing body and new stickers.
• The distinctive form of the 1978 Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo is captured in style by a lightweight, rigid 1.0mm thick polycarbonate body.
• The efficient shaft-driven 4WD TT-02 chassis features superior adaptability and stability.
• Front 2-piece mesh wheels from Item 50548 (silver color) are paired with racing slick tires.
• Rear 2-piece wide mesh wheels from Item 50549 (silver color) are paired with wide racing slick tires from Item 50547.
• Comes with Tamiya Torque-Tuned Motor and Tamiya/Hobbywing ESC.
• Gold color wheel caps are used at front and rear.
• Comes with stickers and masking stickers for use in the paint job.

TT-02 Tech Spec Images

Gearbox cover can be removed simply with the loosening of screws on the frame.	Molded 4-bevel differential gears ensure that the model offers smooth drive and cornering.	Resin ball links in the steering linkage joints make for smooth, comfortable motion.
Wheel hubs are designed to look like brake discs for a realistic and stylish appearance.	4-wheel double wishbone suspension utilizes friction dampers for a controllable ride.	Motor cover includes removable cooling duct (not attached in above image).
