Based upon the road car Celica Liftback 2000GT, the car featured aerodynamic components such as bulging over fenders and rear wing, and employed numerous FRP body panels, which helped keep its weight down to a mere 860kg. An body extensively modified by Schnitzer and a 2,090cc, 560hp inline-4 DOHC turbo engine were utilized.
